A co-operative is a community of individuals and families that come together to share in seasonal foods and to work together to create a better balance of peace and harmony for all. It’s for everyone, and it is helped run by everyone. Each person has the ability to contribute in their own way. The boxes are called “shares” because we buy the food in bulk, and we split it amongst everyone. Because it is seasonal and because it is a co-operative, people will not always receive exactly what they want or in the quantities they want. It is learning to share what’s available and be cooperative. The best joys come from being creative with the unexpected surprises in your box and being able to share the most delicious and healthiest of foods with your friends and family!

Is the produce ORGANIC??! Is it LOCAL?!?!

EVERYTHING is certified organic, and we try to get as much produce from local, organic, Texas farmers that we can. Our main source for local produce is from Gundermann Acres in Wharton, Tx. If they are not growing enough or are in a transition period between seasons, we depend on the distributor to bring us variety. All non-local produce comes from a local distributor so that we can still get all-organic all year round and still have a great variety at wholesale cost.

Our co-op is about more than just local—we have thousands of registered families in the co-op now with a very large group of juicers, vegetarians, vegan, raw foodies, etc. who still appreciate the abundance of variety that they will be going to the grocery store to buy regardless. We try to make it a one-stop shop for all to help save money while still eating organic. The co-op is based on the premise of buying organic produce at wholesale cost to save, to create community, and to support local farmers; please believe me these farmers are like my family now, and we buy from them first when they have enough for us.

Please note that REAL organic food is much different than what you will find in the stores. Sometimes it looks uglier, and sometimes it shines like the sun. Either way, it always has a stronger and more delicious taste! The produce may have dirt on it, but you can easily wash it off. There are also times when you may have some bugs or caterpillars in your food. This is normal! You want your food to be grown in dirt! In the natural world, we are not the only ones who eat fruits and veggies. Nature is there for all to enjoy. Real food may have these elements of surprise. I promise, your food is not infested…this is natural. 😉 Welcome to organic!

Please remember that the more shares that we have that day, the more abundance we will have. We buy as much from local, organic farmers as we can and with what they have available. The more that we buy from them, the more they can produce. The more they produce, the more we can support them!

Why is organic important?!

There are SEVERAL reasons to buy organic, many having to do with not depleting our nature’s soil. Organic produce has 3x the amount of nutrients contained in non-organic produce. One person must eat 21 conventionally-grown oranges to get the same amount of nutrition contained in 7 organic oranges. Not to mention, they ALWAYS taste better! After a while, you will be able to even taste the difference in non-organic bananas and ours. YES! We also want to support sustainable practices, and when we put our dollars toward sustainable, that is exactly what we will create more of in the world! Lettuce create abundance!

Is the co-op Non-Profit?!

We are registered with the State of Texas as a certified non-profit, but we are not approved for tax-exemption because we are not a strictly charitable organization. What makes our co-op so incredibly special is that we are volunteer driven, and any extra costs are used to cover the shares, the website, the trailer, equipment, etc. It quickly becomes apparent that your box is a STEAL when you see the amount of fruits and veggies that are offered inside. We all work our hardest to always give you the BEST possible deals in terms of quality and price. We all offer our time and efforts because we BELIEVE in this message and because we wish to spread this joy to all. Many who come have found a haven in this co-op, and its purity is what keeps it alive.

How is the Co-op different from a CSA?

The co-op is different from a CSA in the sense that we are not one local farm that provides for a group of people each growing season. We are a co-operative community where we buy from many different organic farmers in bulk prices, and we split the shares so that we all get an abundance of raw, fresh, ripe, organic, and local produce at the best wholesale prices possible. Think of it as a really rawesome buying club! We also get a wider variety of fruits and vegetables because we are buying from more than one source. In addition, we support more than one organic or local farmer. You are not required to buy by the week or the season. You reserve a share whenever you want. The co-op is all about having fun with your food, learning to eat more raw foods, regaining health, saving money, and enjoying community along the way!

What is the Co-op’s GOLDEN RULE?

If you reserve your box online and do not show up, you are still required to pay. A HUGE amount of trust is given to everyone in that if they reserve their box, they are expected to pick-up the day they reserved for. We try to establish a safe community built on honesty and appreciation. We order exactly the amount of food that we need for the day, so anyone who does not pick up will not be allowed to switch days. Treat others as you would like to be treated! Don?t leave us hanging!

What are the shares?

The shares are the produce boxes offered by Rawfully Organic. We have Half Shares, Full Shares, Fruit Shares and Local Shares. The Half Shares are mixed fruit and veggie, meant for smaller households, while the Full Shares are typically recommended for either full-on raw foodies or for families with more than five members. We also have Fruit Shares that are simply that… TONS of delicious fruit! And lastly we have Local Shares that are our smallest boxes that are stuffed with nothing but wonderfully fresh local produce (typically more veggie heavy). The shares are huge and abundant! It quickly becomes apparent that the co-op is special after you see how much food comes in the boxes! They are filled with love!

What typically comes in the shares?

The shares change according to the season, so it is always a surprise! However, if you click here, you can see what is potentially in the shares. Due to the nature of produce, one can never promise a crop; however, we can always share what may be available for that week.

How can I order a share?

Can I come help volunteer?

ABSOLUTELY!! We have WAY too much fun sorting the fruits and veggies! You will quickly get to know our co-op family if you come!! We sing, we dance, and we get to admire all of the beautiful colors! The volunteers who come put their hearts into the boxes, and this love spreads to all. I truly believe this is what helps to bless the food and to make it taste THAT much better!

Sorting on Tuesdays takes place at the Houston Arboretum from 1-4 PM.

Sorting on Saturdays takes place at 3400 Bissonnett from 8:30-11AM.

Can anyone receive community service hours for volunteering?

Absolutely!! Many high school students, college students, and more have received community service hours by coming to help sort the shares. Just come on by during our sorting hours found below!

Is there a difference between Tuesdays and Saturdays?

There may be a different variety of items by 1-2 fruits or veggies, but most of the time, they are exactly the same if possible. The only real difference is the time and place!

Is there a monthly fee?

There are no membership fees! Everything is included in the $48.75 or $90. The boxes are budgeted according to value, and all extra donations are used to help cover the expenses of making the co-op function (tents, gas, lanterns, food, trailers, etc.)

Can I donate to ROC?

Absolutely! All donations are very much appreciated. We use these donations for everything from website costs to co-op green bags, tables, tents, vehicle upkeep, etc. You can donate to the co-op when you order your shares. Simply add in your desired amount.

Do I have to participate every week?

Nope! The co-op is designed so that you can order a box whenever you want. Our lives can be too crazy at times, and it can be hard to dedicate ourselves to something for a very long period of time. For this reason, I love being able to be flexible with everyone. Happy heart, happy belly!

What is the Co-op Automatic Weekly List?

If you want to be on the weekly list for co-op and not have to reserve your box each week, simply email We will put you on the Automatic Weekly list so that your box is automatically reserved and charged each week for you. If you want to skip a week, simply let us know at least 24 hours in advance, and we will hold the box for that week. Easy!

Are extra shares made?

Absolutely! We do our best to make extra Half and Fruit Shares each co-op day but please come and ASK before grabbing a box. If we do not have extras when you come, we will always try to make one for you on the spot. We do our absolute best to never turn anyone away! :)

Why do you offer only produce?

Rawfully Organic is based upon the premise of eating a 100% raw foods diet/lifestyle. Life comes from the purity and simplicity of these healthy, raw foods. Our society has come to offer foods that are too processed and lacking in value, and it has created sickness in many areas of life. The co-op aims to offer abundant amounts of produce that allow one to succeed in a 100% raw foods lifestyle. We do not offer any meat or dairy products. Of course, not everyone in the co-op is a raw food vegan; however, everyone comes to appreciate the fresh, goodness of this organic and local food. Many try to improve their health, many come for the tastes, and many come to be a part of the community. ALL are welcome.

Do I get to choose my produce? Can I swap?

The boxes are sorted when you come to pick them up, and you get the option of adding a few more choice items. AND, we never want anyone to leave unhappy, so if there is anything that you do not want in your box, you have the option to swap it with the specifed items that are on the front table. Simply find a knowledgable volunteer! Please keep in mind that you can also ADD fourth and extra cases of individual fruits or veggies to your share. (See below)

What method of payment is accepted?

When reserving your share online, you MUST pay with a card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover are all accepted! AmEx acceptability is coming soon!). Cash and cards (all types) are both accepted when you pick up any extra items at co-op. Beginning October 2014, the co-op no longer accepts checks. Our apologies for any inconvenience! Please remember to still wait in line and check out with us when you pick up your share even if you paid online and aren?t adding any extras. Thank you! :)

Where are the Tuesday Night Porch Pickups?

We have Porch Pickups in Cypress @ Season?s Harvest Cafe, Spring, The Woodlands and Missouri City @ Little Wonders. They are listed under Porch Pickups on the Order Page. To keep confidentiality of these homes that have volunteered their porches, the addresses of where to pick up only appear after one orders their share and pays online.

Are the Tuesday Porch Pickups an extra cost?

The porch pickups cost an additional $7.70 per box. This amount helps us to cover the cost of our delivery drivers. Considering that many may live far away, this amount is a steal! It can cost more than that to take the tolls, and it can save you a lot of time that you may have spent sitting in traffic! Anyone can volunteer their porch to be a pickup location. Email if you are interested.

What are the costs of the shares?

The Half and Fruit Shares are $48.75, the Full Shares are $90 and Local Shares are $25.

I eat a lot of produce! Can I order extras?

Absolutely! In ADDITION to your shares, there is also the option to buy either a fourth, or full cases of our most popular items. You will find this option on our Order a Share Page. If you are looking for something specific, please email We ask that everyone be flexible because sometimes these items may not be available or may not show up. ?Tis simply the nature of produce!

Can I only order extras and not order a share?

We do not allow anyone to order only extras for the sole reason that it takes away from the co-op and it takes away from the plentifulness of the boxes. You can always add a fourth or full case of additional items to your share, but you cannot simply come and order extras or shop off the table. The co-op is based on the idea of sharing food. We buy the food in bulk from our local farmers and the local distributor in order to get the BEST possible deals and the BEST possible prices. Not only that, but we are a community. If we allowed everyone to come and select anything they wanted, then we become a grocery store. The soul of the co-op would be lost. Kristina started the co-op with the idea of being fair to everyone. Each person is treated equally. It?s not meant to keep anyone out, but it?s meant to keep us a community. The co-op has become SO special to so many people, and sharing our food with each other is what makes it so incredible!

What about Tuesday’s Porch Pickups?

On Tuesday nights there are porch pickups. These pick-ups are not the co-op main locations, but they are simply a porch of families who have SO generoulsy allowed us to use. The boxes are dropped off by other co-operators, and they usually arrive around 6-8 PM. Everyone who is participating at that drop will get an email as soon as the shares have arrived so please wait until you receive that email before you attempt to pick up your share. Addresses are provided after you order your share.

Please note: you are free to pick up your box any time during the night, but we try to remind people that if they do not pick up their box that night, they may not be as fresh the coming morning (especially in the summer with the heat!). Not to mention, we never know what animals may be lurking around looking for some pears on which to nibble! Also, those who do pick-ups do not get to choose their choice items. The choice items are selected at random and placed into the boxes for you.
